While the School was out on Workday, Shirley BHS staff entertained some 300 boys from Shirley Intermediate, Marshland, Rawhiti, Redcliffs, South New Brighton, Parkview and Chisnallwood Schools. 24 SBHS rowers competed in the recent New Zealand Secondary Schools Rowing Championships (commonly known as Maadi) held in Twizel. With 2200 rowers from 120 schools, Maadi represents an opportunity to race against crews from around New Zealand.
